Please find below a summary of our findings.
The exact number of incidents involving animals to which you were called to between 1 January 2019 and 31 October 2021
If possible, a breakdown of the number of incidents per species of animal
Information until March 2021 is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as this information is reasonably accessible to the requestor. Information concerning incidents involving animals and the number of each species of animal can be found on West Midlands Fire Service website at the following link: https://www.wmfs.net/about-us/foi/
Information from 1st April 2021 to 31st October 2021 is exempt under Section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Information intended for future publication. Details will be published by West Midlands Fire Authority at the following link when it is available which is usually by the end of June 2022: https://www.wmfs.net/about-us/foi/
If possible, the number of animal deaths recorded during incidents
For the requested period, WMFS have recorded a total of 193 incidents that involved an animal death. The following table shows the type of animal involved and the number of deaths for each type.
