Incidents
Allerton Road, Birmingham, UK
At 8.18pm on Thursday 21 July we responded to a shed on fire between two houses in Allerton Road, South Yardley, Birmingham.
One fire engines and two 4×4 Brigade Response Vehicles attended, crewed by a total of 10 firefighters from Ward End and Ladywood fire stations.
Our fire control team relayed imagery to them from a member of the public – sent in via our 999eye system – to give them real-time information before they arrived.
They wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, which damaged the exteriors of the properties.
A man suffered slight burns to one hand and was understood to be making his own way to hospital to have it assessed.
We had left the scene by around 10.30pm but revisited three hours later to check that there was no risk of the fire re-igniting.
White Watch Responded to this incident last night which came through as a shed fire in Yardley. 999eye footage was utilised on route to aid in a very quick respond with 2 crews from Ward End & 1 from @WMFSLadywood A good stop was put in to prevent this incident escalating???????????? pic.twitter.com/d1NIub0f08
