Five fire crews have responded to reports of a fire in a terraced property on Freehold Street, Coventry.

The incident involves a severe fire in a rear bedroom.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the blaze using hose reel jets and covering jets.

Due to damage, occupiers of the property are liaising with on-scene representatives from Midland Heart to arrange temporary accommodation.

No injuries have been reported.

Freehold Street is currently closed to ensure scene safety for our firefighters.

Crews successfully prevented the fire from spreading from the room of origin. They will spend the next few hours damping down and turning over debris. Adjacent houses were checked for any signs of fire or smoke damage, none was found.

Crews completed their damping down checks and carried out a full inspection to check for remaining hotspots using a thermal imaging camera. We left the scene at 8.20pm.
