At 5.05am on Wednesday 1 June we responded to Pearson Street in Guns Village, West Bromwich where the gable end of a terraced house had partially collapsed.

A 4x4 Brigade Response Vehicle and a fire engine attended, crewed by seven firefighters from West Bromwich fire station. The first arrived within three minutes of being mobilised.

Two men were led to safety, one of whom had a pre-existing medical condition and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A structural engineer also attended, and council teams assisted with putting a safety cordon in place and clearing up debris.

Contractors were requested to carry out work to make the building safe.
