Firefighters from Bournbrook fire station have responded to Heely Road, Selly Oak where a mid-terraced house has partially collapsed along with some scaffolding.

The fire crew arrived shortly after 11am on Tuesday 28 June, within three minutes of being mobilised.

Around eight people were evacuated from neighbouring properties as a safety precaution.

No-one was believed to be injured, but a car was damaged.

The road was expected to be closed for some time for the scene to be cleared up.

Our firefighters have removed some of the rubble created as a result of this incident, including some from a roof.

A structural engineer has attended the scene and advised on remedial work that needs to be done by contractors.

We will revisit the scene to check on progress later this afternoon.
