Creynolds Lane, Cheswick Green, Solihull, UK

Just after 9am on Thursday 19 May, we were called to an incident on Creynolds Lane, Solihull.

One fire engine from Solihull fire station initially responded.

This incident involved a man who had become trapped in a hole, approximately eight feet below ground, whilst carrying out excavating ground works.

A Technical Rescue Unit from Bickenhill fire station was mobilised for access to specialist equipment in order to perform a safe rescue - which was successfully carried out within twenty minutes of arrival.

Once free, the man was assessed by Ambulance colleagues before being conveyed to hospital. West Midlands Police were also in attendance and managed a cordon to ensure our crews had a safe working space.
