Cemetery Rd, Wednesbury WS10 8NA, UK

Just before 12:10pm on Thursday 26 May, we were called to a fire at a waste site on Cemetery Road, Darlaston.

Four fire engines responded, crewed by firefighters from Walsall, Aldridge, Willenhall and Bilston fire stations.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled and extinguished the fire using main jets.

Highways were contacted due to initial concerns of smoke affecting the nearby M6, but no action was needed.

We worked with Network Rail, who isolated overhead railway lines and arranged a local stoppage of trains due to safety concerns.

Walsall council are supplying mechanical diggers to assist our crews as they begin digging out and moving burnt materials.

No casualties have been reported.
