Crews attended in under five minutes

North Drive, The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, UK

At 10.38am on Monday 3 April, we responded to a house fire on North Drive, Sutton Coldfield.

Four fire engines, crewed by 18 firefighters from Perry Barr, Erdington, Ward End and Aston fire stations attended the scene.

The first appliance arrived within five minutes of being mobilised.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and a safety jet to tackle the fire.

Crews continue to work at the scene and are currently removing tiles to access an area in the roof where the fire is thought to have started.

Crews have now concluded all firefighting activities at this incident.

In total, eight firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked to extinguish the fire, which badly damaged the roof of the semi-detached bungalow.

A builder remains on site, and a revisit is planned later this afternoon.
