Beachburn Way, Birmingham, UK

Just after 9:30am on Friday 22 April, we responded to a severe fire on the ground floor of a semi-detached house on Beachburn Way, Handsworth, Birmingham.

Four fire engines attended, crewed by firefighters from Ladywood, Perry Barr, Aston and Handsworth fire stations.

A total of ten firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jets. Crews then used ventilation equipment to clear the property of smoke.

Fortunately, there were no casualties. The neighbouring property was also evacuated, although the fire did not spread.

The fire was a result of bypassed electrics, which was powering a cannabis factory.

West Midlands Police were also in attendance.
