At 12.55pm on Tuesday 31 January, we were alerted to a collision on the M6 Northbound between Junctions 9 and 10.

Two fire engines from Walsall Fire Station attended the incident, crewed by nine firefighters.

The collision involved three cars and a lorry, which resulted in two lanes of that northbound stretch of the motorway being closed.

The closures were to enable our crews and other agencies – including the ambulance and police services – to work safely together to free a man from one of the vehicles.

Crews also assisted in making the vehicles and carriageway safe.

Two lanes remain closed and West Midlands Police and National Highways remain at the scene.
