At 2.55pm on Thursday 30 March, we responded to a fire at a 2nd floor flat of a four-storey block in Market Square, Wolverhampton.

Four fire engines and a 4×4 Brigade Response Vehicle attended from Wolverhampton, Bilston, Tettenhall and Willenhall fire stations.

Our first appliance arrived within four minutes of being mobilised.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and a safety jet to extinguish the fire. A 13.5 metre ladder was also used.

Three people were rescued from the property and received treatment from paramedics at the scene. A full search of the block was also conducted.

The incident was caused by cooking left unattended.

We left the scene at 6.33pm.
