Firefighters tackle Coventry house blaze

Just before 03.00am on Saturday 18 February, we were alerted to a fire in a property on Walsgrave Road, Coventry.

Six fire crews from stations including Binley, Coventry, Foleshill, Canley and Solihull attended the incident, with 30 firefighters in total and a hydraulic platform.

The incident involved a severe fire in a terraced property, measuring around 25m x 10m in size.

The fire had broken through the roof of the property and spread to two adjoining properties.

Hose reel jets and a hydraulic platform were used to tackle the blaze. The properties were evacuated and all persons were accounted for.

The fire was confirmed to be out at 05.48am.

We remained at the property throughout the morning, extinguishing any remaining hotspots. A revisit at 3.00pm confirmed there were no further signs of fire spread and we left the incident shortly after.
