Four crews have attended reports of a fire on the roof of college premises on Fordrough Lane, Bordesley Green, Birmingham.

The fire, believed to be related to a solar panel distribution unit, is being tacked by crews and has caused heavy smoke logging to a section of the college.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are making a full search of the property.

A hydraulic platform is also in attendance.

The fire was confirmed as extinguished at around 15:40

The incident was a fire within a distribution board for solar panels, located on the 2nd floor of 3 storey college complex.

Roof cladding is being removed by crews.

A full sweep of the building has taken place with no reported persons involved.

Some smoke remains within the property and is being ventilated by fire crews.

West Midlands Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service have also been in attendance.
