Burbages Lane, Longford, Coventry, UK

Shortly before 7.00pm on Wednesday 5 April, we responded to a fire at a disused Working Men’s Club in Burbages Lane, Coventry.

Five fire engines and a 4×4 Brigade Response Vehicle attended the incident, crewed by a total of 27 firefighters.

The first appliance arrived at the scene within three minutes of being mobilised.

18 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and two covering jets to extinguish the fire, which they believe was started deliberately.

Police and ambulance colleagues also attended. The building was empty and no-one was reported injured.

The fire was confirmed to be out at 9.18pm and we left the scene at 10.25pm.

A crew revisited the site later that night to check for hotspots but none were found.
