Dimmocks Avenue, Bilston, UK

At 12:30pm on Tuesday 3 May, we responded to a house fire on Dimmocks Avenue, Bilston.

Three fire engines and a brigade response vehicle responded – crewed by firefighters from Fallings Park, Dudley and Bilston fire stations.

The fire was located in the front bedroom of the two-storey property.

A total of six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using hose reel jets. One man had escaped the house prior to our arrival. Crews treated him for minor smoke inhalation whilst waiting for the arrival of West Mids Ambulance.

Firefighters also inspected neighbouring properties and found no sign of fire spread. The fire is thought to have been caused by paper being in contact with an electric heater.

A drone was brought into operation to assess the building for any hotspots once the fire had been extinguished.
