Fire at premises, Stratford Road, Hockley Heath

Crews are still currently in attendance at this incident and have made good progress. We've scaled down our resources at the scene to two fire engines.

The fire affected around 50% of the building. Around 30% of the roof of the property has collapsed.

Crews, using breathing apparatus, have been utilising 4 main jets and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and damp down any hot spots. Our hydraulic aerial platform has also attended to assist with firefighting and access from height.

A total of six people evacuated before the arrival of the fire service, with no injuries reported.

Crews continue to damp down and are awaiting the arrival of a structural engineer to assess the property.

A thorough check of the building was conducted during a revisit at around 11pm. Thermal imaging showed no signs of any hotspots. A handover has been completed with the site owner this morning.
