Morrisons, Chester Road, Birmingham, UK

Shortly before 9.20pm on Tuesday 5 September, we responded to a fire at a Morrisons supermarket on Chester Road, Shard End.

Two fire engines, two brigade response vehicles, and a hydraulic platform attended, crewed by 15 firefighters from Sheldon, Ward End and Highgate stations.

This was a fire involving electrical cables and ducting in the roof void of the supermarket. The store was evacuated at the time of the incident.

Fire crews were assisted by a drone operator, who helped identify the source of the fire.

The fire was put out using C02 extinguishers. It is believed to have started accidentally and there were no casualties.

We liaised with onsite management and left the scene at 1.05am.
