This dramatic image (below) captures flames and smoke billowing from the top deck of a bus in Handsworth, Birmingham.

It was sent by a caller via 999eye to Staffordshire and West Midlands Fire Control.

Two crews from Handsworth fire station responded to Soho Road at 7.20pm on Wednesday (24 May).

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reels and a main jet to extinguish the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberatelty. They had left the scene by 8.30pm.

No-one was reported injured.
