Firefighters tackle Darlaston flat blaze

Shortly after 2.20pm on Friday (5 January), we responded to Cramp Hill, Darlaston.

Fire engines from Willenhall, Bilston and Wednesbury attended, the first arriving in under four minutes.

This was a fire on the first floor of a two-storey block of flats, which was heavily smoke-logged.

A hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire.

One man was helped from the property by firefighters and received first aid, before paramedics carried out further treatment. He is believed to have been conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Cramp Hill has cordons in place and access to the road is restricted.
