Chip shop fire on Tettenhall High Street

Crews have attended a fire in a commercial chip shop on the high street in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton.

Four crews, from Tettenhall, Wolverhampton and Fallings Park fire stations have attended a fire in a commercial property on Tettenhall High Street.

The incident, involving a chip shop fryer on the ground floor of a two-storey building, has been extinguished by fire crews using a hose reel jet operated by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The fire is now out and crews are damping down and cutting away and are monitoring the scene.

There was smoke logging to adjacent commercial properties, which has been cleared by firefighters.

One female suffered smoke inhalation. The owner of the property is in attendance and is liaising with our crews.

Full searches have been carried out, with smoke cleared using a ventilation fan, at all adjacent premises.

Crews have damped down and cut away areas affected by fire in the chip shop premises.

A precautionary check was carried out on the female who suffered smoke inhalation by West Midlands Ambulance service.

Landlords of the affected properties have been in attendance.

Crews are expected to leave the scene shortly.
