Just after 11.10am on Thursday 9 March we attended Wyatt Close in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

There was a fire in a ground-floor bin room of a high-rise building.

Four fire engines, crewed by firefighters from Highgate, Bournbrook, Ladywood and Kings Norton attended, along with a hydraulic platform.

The first appliance arrived within three minutes of being mobilised.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire. A blockage was also found in a bin chute on the fifth floor, which was cleared with a main jet.

Crews searched all floors for any further signs of fire or smoke as a precaution but none were found.

We left the incident at 12.22pm.
