West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 28h July 2023
Please find below a summary of our findings.
How many wildfires did your fire brigade deal with from 2017 to 2022? Please break down your response by year, size of fire, date, cause and if possible, location.

If possible, please let me know the annual cost of dealing with wildfires to your brigade 2017 to 2022. Please break the figure down by each year.
This information is exempt under section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as we do not hold this information. We do not record annual cost of dealing with wildfires.
However, it is possible to calculate a notional cost for call out by applying the charging mechanism that is used to calculate special service call charges with time spend at incident.

for years hourly rate:
2018-19 £459.60 hourly rate
2022-23 £518.40 hourly rate
Please let me know any new equipment your service has purchased or plans to purchase in the last 5 years to combat wildfires.
To date, West Midlands Fire Service has not purchased any equipment specific to wildfires though this is currently being looked into.
