RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 6th October 2023
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Can you please advise what the new Iveco vehicles (for example RBC1) will be used for, what equipment and setup they have, and photos of the locker layout if available.
WMFS currently has 2 Iveco Daily’s 7 ton 4 x 4 vehicles in build. We have no suitable photos to share.
These are going to be used as support vehicles for our Technical Rescue teams, mainly carrying water and rope rescue equipment.
We have another nearly new Iveco which is a trial vehicle currently being used as part of a Risk Based Crewing initiative.
This is not owned by WMFS, but is being leased from Emergency One for a period of 6-months. This vehicle is based on an Iveco Daily 7 ton chassis cab, but not 4 x4. It has a purpose build body on the rear and a PTO driven Godiva fire pump. It carries the same equipment as a BRV vehicle, but with a few extra items and an increased water capacity.
Please find link below to video on Facebook which shows equipment carried on BRV.
All the other Ivecos’ in use in the service are around 15 years old.
