RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST 

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request. 

Please find below a summary of our findings. 

Request 

I would like to know, for each month since the start of 2019 to now: 

1) The number of fires attended by WMFS caused by electric, portable or any other kind of household heater. 

2) The number of fires attended by WMFS caused by candles. 

Reply 

Please see attached the number of fires which were recorded as being caused by ‘Heater/Fire’ or ‘Candles’, by month. 

Please note: This number may change due to outstanding workbooks. We haven’t received the data for December, so the figures shown are from 1st January 2019 up to 30th November 2022.
