RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST  

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request. 

Please find below a summary of our findings.  

Request  

Number of callouts to fires where "air fryer" is named as the cause in each of the following calendar years: 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. Please include any available details on the number/type of injuries, deaths and length of time to put each fire out.

Please note the following:  

• Incidents have been identified by searching all incident logs for the words ‘air fryer’. Therefore any spelling mistakes or other variants will not have been identified in this search  
• The date range searched 01/01/2017 – 01/11/2022  

• We do have outstanding workbooks for the current year so the figures for this year may change
