RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST  

West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 29^th November 2022

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request.

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:

1. How many complaints of racism have been received for the calendar years 2020, 2021 and 2022 to date? 

2. How many of these complaints were upheld each year?

3. How many of these complaints resulted in a disciplinary process each year (break into calendar years 2020, 2021 and 2022 to date)?

4. How many of these complaints resulted in the accused losing their job each year  (break into calendar years 2020, 2021 and 2022 to date?

For each question please provide the rank of the person who is accused of racism and if it is more senior than the alleged victim.

WMFS regularly publish into our Scrutiny Committee on these cases via the ‘Dispute Resolution Report’ which are publicly available. Therefore, this information is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as this information is reasonably accessible to the requestor. Please note:

Dispute Resolution Report’ are published as both part of the agenda pack and as separate items. You will need to go into each meeting and see if a Dispute Resolution is listed (not all meetings had them) and you will then be able to download the reports specifically.
