West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 16^th November 2022

Please find below a summary of our findings.

I would like to request data on the number of fires your service has tackled caused by ‘E-Bikes’ during the last 3 years, including 2022,

Please find below the last 3 calendar years and the current year for fires involving e-bikes:

2019: 0

2020: 2

2021: 4

2022: 6

Please note e-bikes are not a property type and therefore manual searches are carried out using the words ‘e-bike’ and ‘electric bike’ in the incident logs.
