RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST 

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request.  

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Station name / what vehicles they have / make and model of the appliances e.g Highgate / 2 prls 1 hp / Dennis sabre etc

This information is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as this information is reasonably accessible to the requestor. Information concerning our fleet can be found on West Midlands Fire Service website at the following link:  https://www.wmfs.net/foi/fleet-list/

Request

Could you advise within the last 6 months which stations have had new BRV’s and will these be red from now on?

Response

West Midlands Fire Service has not purchased a new BRV over the past 6 months.

However, following a RTC Billesley’s BRV was deemed beyond economical repair.

A ‘used’ Toyota Invincible was sourced, and this was converted to a BRV by TEW and it is now operational at Billesley.

The Vehicle Replacement Programme sets out the vehicles that are scheduled for replacement during each financial year

Which stations have had new PRLS?

The following stations have had new PRLs: Perry Barr, Handsworth, Billesley, Sheldon, Brierley Hill, Solihull and Smethwick

Request

Moving forward how many new BRVS and PRLS are on order? which stations will these be going to?

Response

The following stations are due to have new PRLS, these are currently being commissioned

West Bromwich, Ladywood, Erdington, Dudley and Ward End.

Sutton Coldfield is waiting for the commissioning of a new technical Rescue Pump.

There are currently 6 PRL’s on order, the estimated delivery date for these is October 2023, the location for these vehicles has not yet been finalised.
