RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Request
1. The number of career break returnees between the dates of January 22nd 2007 and August 26th 2022.

This information is exempt under Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as we do not hold this information. We do not record career break returnees on our system.

2. Of those career break returnees, how many received long service entitlement of 3 days on their immediate return to the West Midlands Fire Service.
Reply
Individuals are not entitled to long service leave when they return. I have copied the relevant section from our internal Career Break Policy below.
4.9 Continuous Service
Previous service will not count towards any benefits based on length of service including sick pay, maternity leave or pay, annual leave, notice entitlement and redundancy pay.
