RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST 

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request. 

Please find below a summary of our findings. 

Request 

1. When Is the new mobilising system coming to fire control and what system will this be are there any demos and what are the changes compared to the current system 

Reply 

The new mobilising system SSS Vision 4 went live on 7th June 2022. Due to the sensitive nature of the business that is carried out in the Control room, system demos are unable to be facilitated.  

Vision 4: 

  • Provides greater resilience and security 
  • Has enhanced mapping functionality enabling more accurate incident location 
  • Provides advanced mobile location (AML) information 
  • Considers road closures when proposing resources 
  • Integrated telephony systems 

It also provides opportunities for future enhancements which include  

  • Pre-alert 
  • Attribute-based mobilising 
  • The electronic sharing of incident information between multi-agency Control Rooms  
  • Integrated staffing systems.

Request 

2. In relation to the cardboard major fire in nechells please advise of the following in this order if possible 

In relation to all appliances including special ones and fire officers please advise 

1. Assign time 
2. Mobile time 
3. In attendance time 
4. Leave time 
5. Please advise the appliance name and which station it came from or the officer rank 
6. Please advise if any over the border appliances attended and how many 
7. Please advise what station appliances were sent as standby to other stations whilst the major incident was being dealt with for example ward rnd brv sent to cover Highgate for 4 hours
