RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000. Please see below a request for the following information relating to fires caused by e-scooter or e-bike batteries.
a. How many fires have been caused by e-scooter batteries in the county?
b. If it is within the time/cost limit set by the FOI Act, please provide dates for each incident.
For each question, I would like data for each of the following time periods:
April 2021 – April 2022
April 2020 – March 2021
April 2019 – March 2020
Please see below for details of E-scooter and E-bike fires between the dates specified. Please note that neither are yet classed as a property or vehicle type, so we have searched the logs using keywords (e.g. e-scooter, e-bike, electric scooter, electric bike etc) and therefore the results are dependent on whether these key words are mentioned.
