RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested further to your freedom of information request.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Request
What resources did you use respond to the high rise flat fire at Thomas King House in Coventry on 11th September 2020. Please can I have the information just showing:
Call sign (or resource type and base station) / time of dispatch / time of arrival / time available
Also, please can I ask what resources were left available or sent to cover Coventry, Canley, Binley and Foleshill fire stations during this incident
Reply
Please see attached.
Please be aware that Officers are not linked to a station therefore there isn’t a station attached the attending officer.
Information related to call signs, has been excluded as it is exempt under Section 38 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as disclosing this information is likely to endanger individual fire service personnel. These identifiers specifically identify resources that may respond to incidents related to community resilience or counter terrorism with other agencies. Identification by call sign could expose vulnerabilities in resilience arrangements and thus endanger fire-fighter safety.
During the incident, Highgate and Handsworth went on standby to Coventry, Aston went to Foleshill, Bickenhill and Ladywood went to Binley, and Northfield and Aston went to Canley (twice for Aston).
