Our Safe and Well visits form a key part of our prevention work, helping us to keep people safe in their homes.
We know there are strong links between health, well-being and lifestyle choices and the risk of fire. This is why, with residents’ permission, we cover a range of topics during a Safe and Well:
- smoking, alcohol, medication and drugs
- mental health, dementia
- mobility including slips, trips and falls
- hoarding
- loneliness and social isolation
- healthy eating and lifestyles
- home security
- road safety
If you’ve received a Safe and Well in the last two years, either a visit in person, by phone or virtually, we would really appreciate your views. Have you made changes at home as a result of our visit? Have you got any ideas for how the visits could be improved?
The questionnaire is available to complete until 5 November. We’ll also be promoting it on our social media accounts and WMNow, the community messaging platform. Some residents may receive a letter about it.
If you’ve already completed the short survey – thank you!If you, or someone you know, would benefit from a Safe and Well visit by their local firefighters, you can learn more and book online.
