Firefighters attend serious collision in Stourbridge

Shortly before 8.35am on Wednesday (30 August), we responded to a collision at the junction of Wollescote Road and Hodge Hill Avenue in Stourbridge.

Fire engines from Oldbury, Haden Cross and Stourbridge Fire Stations responded, crewed by 14 firefighters.

This was a collision between a car, a van and a lampost. Both vehicles came to rest on all four wheels.

One passenger in the car was freed from the vehicle by firefighters. The other freed himself from the vehicle prior to our arrival. Both are believed to have been conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Five further casualties from the van were treated at the scene for injuries by firefighters and paramedics. Two of these casualties are also believed to have been conveyed to hospital.

A cordon was established and the road was closed. An air ambulance was also in attendance.

Crews made both of the vehicles safe and we left the scene at 10.56am.
