Firefighters work with with fellow emergency services after serious Handsworth collision

Soho Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, UK

Shortly after 8.25pm on Sunday 18 February, we responded to Soho Road in the Handsworth area of Birmingham.

Two fire engines and two 4×4 brigade response vehicles from Handsworth and Ladywood stations attended. The first arrived within two minutes of being mobilised.

This was a collision between several cars on the road.

A man was rapidly freed from one car by firefighters using cutting equipment. He was handed into the care of doctors at the scene who sadly, confirmed his death.

Soho Road was closed from Stafford Road to Grove Lane.

Firefighters made the scene safe, and left the incident in the hands of West Midlands Police at 11.50pm.
