West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 13th February 2020
Please find below a summary of our findings.
The number of incidents responded to by your fire department specifically related to electrical man hole covers between the dates January 2015 to present day.
The incident recording system does not have category that specifically relates to ‘electrical manhole covers. However, the generic term ‘manhole cover’ does exist, therefore we used this term to retrieve incidents and only three incidents during the relevant period, none of which appear related to electrical manhole covers.
In order to satisfy your request we have try to locate relevant incidents, I have used a keyword search within the incident data to identify incidents where ‘manhole’ is mentioned within the incident logs to identify which ones Western Power has attended to make safe etc. Using this method produced 15 incidents that satisfied the criteria of both manhole and Western Power/Electricity Board. Incidents by financial year are as follows:
Please note, however, that using keyword searches such as the above is never totally accurate.
