I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 19th May 2016

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request

The number of fire brigade call outs to all white goods fires and incidents for the last five years (between January 2011 to present, May 2016) where the cause was a faulty appliance or supply.

Reply

The tables attached show the number of accidental dwelling fires attended by West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) from January 2010 to the end of June 2015 where the cause of the fire was due to ‘fault in equipment or appliance (including overheating)’ and the source of ignition was an electrical appliance with an electric cord attached (eg excluding lighting).
