A request asking for the allowances of the Walsall Councillors on our Fire Authority.



I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 3rd August 2015.

Please find below a summary of our findings.


3 councillors from our local authority (Walsall) are nominated to be aligned/connected/allocated to your organisation.  I would like to know whether any of these representatives receive any remuneration in terms of salary, expenses, bonuses or pension payments in relation to this undertaking. If so to what level are these paid.


The only payments the 3 Walsall Councillors receive are the Basic and Extra Responsibility Allowances.

The total annual allowance per Councillor is as follows:

Cllr Craddock – £3.5k
Cllr Douglas-Maul – £8.4k
Cllr Young – £8.4k
