A request for information about vision system – 17140
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 19th December 2017
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Does the West Midlands Fire Service use the Vision system in the Control Room to assist staff with mobilising fire appliances?
West Midlands Fire Service does use the Vision system.
If so, for the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, how many faults with the Vision system have occurred, that affected mobilising a fire appliance? Please could you provide separate data sets for the three years?
2015: 2 faults
2016: 2 faults
2017: 2 faults
For the years 2015, 2016 and 2017, how many times have crews raised a query or debrief, saying that the wrong appliance was sent to an incident as a result of the Vision system. (for example, that the closest available fire engine was not sent, or anything else that went wrong as a result of Vision). Please could you provide separate data sets for the three years.
West Midlands Fire Service had no incident where the wrong appliance was sent to incident as a result of the Vision system therefore had no queries or debriefs.
