I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 3rd January 2019

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request

The software used by the Media/Communications team to manage press enquiries, send press releases and maintain a press contacts database. Please specify the value and length of any contracts associated with the tools you use.

Reply

West Midlands Fire Service does not have bespoke software for these activities. We use various applications within Office 365, eg e-mail, contacts and Teams, to obtain, manage and distribute information relating to media enquiries. Information is also shared with the media electronically, via our social media accounts and website.

West Midlands Fire Service does not have bespoke media monitoring software, nor current plans to acquire any. We mainly use free-to-access Google search/news alerts and social media notifications to keep abreast of relevant news coverage.

The software used by the Media/Communications team to manage and store interactions with stakeholders (e.g. the media, regulators, government agencies, the community, the public). Please specify the value and length of any contracts associated with the tools you use.

The software used by the Public Affairs or any other relevant team to monitor the political environment and Parliament and log interactions with politicians, civil servants, lobbying bodies, trade unions, etc. Please specify the value and length of any contracts associated with the tools you use.
