A request for information about replacement Fire Engines – 17093
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 29th August 2017.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
I’ve heard in the enthusiast circle that West Midlands are due more new Volvo Fire Engines? I’m guessing they’ll be built or being built by JDC could you tell me how many are due and when please?
In the last few months West Midlands Fire Service has taken delivery of 7 new Volvo Appliances that have been built by JDC, we are currently out to tender for another 15 Appliances over the next 3 years therefore at present we do not have any agreed delivery dates.
I’ve also seen you have a Mercedes Rosenbauer Demonstrator Van on a trial will this be something permanent for yourselves?
The Mercedes demonstrator is on loan for 6 months to allow us to evaluate its capabilities and give us alternative options for future purchase consideration.
