Ref: FOI/16114

Dear Mr Heenan.

RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 25th August 2016.

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request

How many new fire engines are coming into service this year are they replacing the 02 and 52 can I obtain pictures of the new engines

Reply

There will 7 new appliances coming into service from the period of April 2016 forward. No photographs are available at present.

Request

With the recent spate of big fires such as the wall Heath fire and using two aerials when there are only 4 in service are there plans for a 5th? Or is the old man water tower still in reserve to cover?

Reply

There are currently no plans to increase the fleet of HPs across the West Midlands to 5, our resource requirements are determined through the Integrated Risk Management Planning process which has not identified a need to increase the number of HPs. The water tower is no longer in use on our frontline.
