RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 22nd August 2017

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request

Please confirm the following

1) if a station has a HP e.g Highgate what happens if their 2  PRL’s are Called out and the HP is required? Would another HP from another station be called out even tho it’s not the closest?

Reply

Depending on the initial call, if the HP is likely to be required i.e. roof fire then Fire Control using dynamic mobilising may send a PRL from Highgate and the HP and the other Highgate appliance as a temporary BRV or the next nearest PRL.

If both Highgate appliances are at the incident Fire Control would make an assessment in conjunction with the incident ground to see if personnel could be released to collect the HP or mobilise the nearest HP next nearest HP.  The quickest option would always be identified by Fire Control.
