We would be grateful if you could possibly confirm any attendance you have made to any of these sites listed below over the last two years relating to any lift entrapments

Knights Court

Malvern Grange Management

Reply

There have been no incidents in the last two years where WMFS have attended for a lift release at Knights Court.

Malvern Grange falls within Hereford & Worcesters Fire Service’s boundary so you would need to contact them to see whether there have been any incidents there.

Their website is as follows:

Request

Could we also please ask if you do attend any site entrapment, do you usually inform anyone or advise the person trapped to do so, or do you make any charge for the service?

Reply

WMFS does attend Special Service calls e.g. lift releases if there is a risk to life.

If there is no risk to life, Fire Control advise a lift engineer to attend when details of the responsible company are available.

WMFS does charge for Special Service call out e.g. lift releases and advises callers they may be charged for the service, unless there is a risk to life. We ascertain whether there is a risk to life by questioning the caller at the initial call and also from the information provided by crews on who attended the incident.

If you have any queries about this email, please contact me.  Please remember to quote the reference number above in any future communications. If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision please write to The Public Relations Department, West Midlands Fire Service, 99 Vauxhall Road, Birmingham, B7 4HW
