RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 6th June 2017.

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Request

I am interested in the data recorded when Fire Officers respond to an incident involving firesetting, deliberate or otherwise.  For instance the type of location (building, warehouse, hedgerows, bins etc.), what time of day or night, week day or weekend, whether accelerant was used, likely cause, whether anyone was apprehended/at the scene etc

If a road fire; Car, Motorcycle, Van, Lorry/HGV, Bus/coach, Agricultural, Other road vehicles

If Outdoor fire and a Primary outdoor fire; Outdoor structures, Outdoor equipment and Machinery, Aircraft, Boats, Trains, Grassland, woodland and crops, Other outdoors (including land)

If Outdoor fire and a Secondary outdoor fire; Refuse, refuse containers and refuse sites, Derelict buildings, Derelict vehicles, Grassland, woodland and crops, Other

Incident type; Dwellings, Other Buildings, Road Vehicles, Outdoors, Secondary fire, Chimney

Building type; Offices and call centres, Retail premises, Industrial premises, Agricultural premises, Hospitals and medical care, Education premises, Food and drink premises, Entertainment, culture and sport, Hotels, boarding houses, hostels etc, Communal living, Private non-residential buildings, Other public buildings and services, Unspecified

These are all taken from data released to the public, however I am interested in the data being linked to specific incidences so I can see if there are any patterns or groupings.

Please note we don’t record whether was used for secondary fires.
