A request for information about regarding how to obtain fire reports
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 18th January 2017.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
How far back do your fire reports records go
In accordance with the retention schedule of records we only keep records for seven years.
Who can access these records.
Records are not readily available for public to obtain. Information will only be provided to solicitors, insurance companies and loss adjusters who are acting on behalf the owner/occupiers. Information can also be provided to someone acting on behalf of an individual who has been recorded on the incident log as being injured as a result of the incident.
Any other relevant information that you feel is appropriate.
This is chargeable service and the cost to obtain a report is £85.
The service aims to release fire reports with 40 working days of receiving a valid request.
