RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information requested on 30th July 2019
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Please would you provide information on the number of buildings in the West Midlands region which have ACM cladding, please would you identify how many of these buildings have cladding which are over 18 metres in height and how many are under 18 metres in height. Please would you provide a spreadsheet of the addresses of these buildings and the level of ACM cladding on the buildings, with details on when the cladding was identified and when it will be removed.
WMFS does not maintain a data base of buildings below 18 metres with ACM cladding and we do not have in depth details of the cladding and dates of removal on our database.
The information collected on our current data base shows, there are 9 buildings over 18m that had ACM cladding; 5 privately owned and 4 social housing.
Of the 9 buildings, 8 of these building have now removed the ACM cladding.
The address information is exempt under Section 38 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as disclosing this information is likely to endanger the public and fire service personnel. By specifically identify building(s) with ACM cladding will cause unnecessary panic, effect resilience arrangements and thus endanger fire-fighter safety.
