I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 29th March 2018.

Please find below a summary of our findings.


I wish to request the following data in electronic format under the Freedom of Information Act (2000):

A spreadsheet containing a list of all recorded fires in your jurisdiction for all properties excluding those in Property Type Group: “Private domestic buildings and structures (e.g. shed)” that have occurred from 01 January 2008 up until the most recently available electronically recorded event. The spreadsheet must include the following fields from the Incident Recording System:

  • 2.1 – What was the time and date of call?
  • 3.2 – What type of Property was involved?
  • 4.2a – Building Name/Number
  • 4.2b – Postcode
  • 4.2c – Flat/Unit Name/Number
  • 4.2d – Street

Data for years 2011, 2012 ,2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 as this information is reasonably accessible to the requestor. Data for years 2017/18 is exempt under Section 22 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Information intended for future publication. Data will be published on  properties excluding those in property type group: “Private domestic buildings and structures (e.g. shed)” on Birmingham data factory at the following link when it is available which is usually by the end of May 2018:

Under the 8 principals of the Data Protection the information has been anonymized.

We only provide all the information list under section of IRS report to owners of the properties and their legal representatives with written consent.
