A request for information about Coventry area resources – 18111
RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST
I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 26th July 2018.
Please find below a summary of our findings.
Within the Coventry area when there is only 1 PRL or BRV available which station does that vehicle get sent to provide the best cover of the city?
We would not have only 1 PRL in the Coventry area. Ideally we would put enough in to Coventry to ensure we can meet our 5 minute response time and ideally 4 in the area to support our attendance for High Rise Incidents. Generally we would try to ensure Coventry Station is covered as a priority over the others but this will all depend on the Dynamic Cover Tool and the areas that are more at risk would be covered first. This changes based on the time of day.
Again, when there are 2 resources available where are they sent to, please can you provide me information as to where the 7 PRL and BRV’s in Coventry are sent to on standby when there are 1,2,3,4 available etc
If this changes dynamically for arguments sake please can i ask where they would be sent to and in what order on a Monday at 0900 hours.
There is no 1,2,3,4 as we cover all areas based on Dynamic decisions from incidents happening at the time and referring to the Dynamic Cover Tool to determine the highest risk areas. Generally there would be more possible incidents around Coventry centre so this could be covered first however every day and hour would be different.
