RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 REQUEST

I am writing to confirm that the West Midlands Fire Service has now completed its search for the information you requested on 19th December 2018

Please find below a summary of our findings.

Here are the details of the request: How many fire related incidents were you called out to from November 2017 – November 2018 involving Birmingham Tower blocks.

How many actual Birmingham Tower Block fires did you deal with from November 2017 – November 2018.

West Midlands Fire Service have attended a total of 211 FDR incidents in tower blocks in Birmingham.

Please be aware of the following;

  • Tower block definition is 4 or more floors
  • All property groups have been used e.g. Dwellings and non-dwelling
  • Only incidents in the Birmingham have been included
  • Only fire incidents are included – no false alarms
  • The date range used was 1st November 2017 – 30th November 2018
